Germish is, apparently, a semi-official name for the screwed up English that Germans use when on the internet.

It has infiltrated English now.

My kids inform me that people in English are now talking about "burning" CDs. This must be a German importation into the English. And I bet the word is only used by Germans who otherwise write quite convincing English.

I'm not surprised that lots of Germish got into stuff like rocket science as so many of the big names and inventors were German emigrants. Or German-speaking.

I've always thought the US usage of 'with' in phrases like "What's with the long faces?" or "Stop with ya' yappin" or famously "Always wi' dem negative waves!" must have come from east of the Rhine.
