"If a saucepan lid comes off, a cork makes a good heat-resistant replacement"

I take it you mean if a handle comes off a saucepan lid?

"If your kitchen cloths are worn, double them"

What cloths are we talking about here? Table cloths, Drying cloths? Wash Cloths?

A good selection of tips as per the other article.

Now I know what to do with all that time I've saved smiley - winkeye

Points 28 & 42 are rather similar. Perhaps rather than 28 (time consuming) suggest using pinking shears to cut up old T-shirts & towels to use as cleaning rags?

19 - do you mean a medium oven?

Thanks for those comments. I've made all the changes suggested, but I think tips 28 and 42 are different enough to remain as they are. The alternative would be to drop tip 28 altogether and replace with something different. I'll look for a new one.

>>You can freshen stale bread by brushing with water, wrapping in aluminium foil and heating in a medium over for 10 minutes.

- Like, a palm reading type of medium? smiley - bigeyes

You mention cleaning lightbulbs - but what about using more efficient light bulbs to begin with? Incandescents are huge wasters.

Dry peanut butter softening - what about crusty honey?

>>If your kitchen drying-up cloths are worn, double them and sew the edges together to get another few months' use out of them.

- and after they become good rags for household cleaning.

>>ou can wear old pyjamas over your clothes if you don't want to invest in a pair of overalls for painting. And, once you don't mind looking, well, a bit mad, you can wear a shower cap to keep paint off your hair instead of a cap.
- smiley - laughsmiley - ok

>>If you don't want to use plastic bubble wrap to pack fragile items, use egg cartons or stale popcorn instead.
- I can't wait to try the stale popcorn on my next ebay purchaser. smiley - bigeyes

smiley - biggrin Good list. Thanks. I may try a few of those.
