The Michael Keaton film "Multiplicity" deals with this issue in a necessarily comic way - the main character doesn't have enough time to deal with all the demands of modern wife/life.

Yes, I have seen it, although it seemed the “extra” husbands were created to help “him” rather than to keep the wife busy and hence stop her (and woman in general) from developing further. (not counting the night they all took her to bed that is).
Also the film used "clones" to overcome the sharing your wife part.

True enough. The underlying theme is roughly similar, though.
I think I would like a clone so that I could go out and drink beer of an evening, and then still be able to, er, exercise my conjugal privileges as it were!

I agree with the drinking beer part. But if we utilize all the time gained in self fulfilment then it leaves very little time for us “man” to better ourselves and catch up with “Woman”.
Although if we carry this far enough, giving “woman” no time for herself, overstretching her completely, then maybe drinking beer and other “male” activities would be ok.
OK. I agree, drinking beer it is.
Ps: the sex, umm.. I think, with all that beer drinking she will be getting less than she actually gets with one non drinking husband…

Then a law is introduced to ban women from pubs and any other drinking establishment
If that didn’t work then
Then a law is introduced to force the pubs to shut at 10.30 otherwise it may lead to end of mankind.
Umm.. this sounds very familiar….
