A Conversation for SONG and DANCE!
'New' Composers
David B - Singing Librarian Owl Started conversation Feb 9, 2005
In recent CD purchases and radio-listenings, I've found that the songs and shows I've enjoyed the most are either really old (pre-Oklahoma old) or very new, and there appear to be some very exciting new composers around. Has anyone else here heard stuff by George Stiles, Adam Guettel, Jason Robert Brown, Damian(?) Intrabartolo and William Finn? All very intriguing. Some fab songs by the above to get you started:
George Stiles - Does the Moment Ever Come? (Just So)
Adam Guettel - Icarus (Myths and Hymns/Saturn returns)
Jason Robert Brown - Surabaya Santa (Songs For a New World)
thingy Intrabartolo - Are You There? (Bare)
William Finn - I'd Rather Be Sailing (A New Brain)
And are there any other recent composers you want to recommend to us all?
David - attempting to revive this group!
