No, I should be saying
for starting the thread drift.
It just had to do with Gnomon's tag.
Anyway, before anyone posts further on this entry they want to make sure you've read and corrected everything they suggested. When you have, they're willing to go further. ?

Oh, and congrats about getting the job! Charity volunteering is a great way to spend the extra time too.

"which appeared nightly at 6:25pm and 11:25pm" -- that's not nightly, it's twice nightly.
"the Muppets were appearing on radio shows" - how can you have a puppet on a radio show?
he felt that the success of Sesame Street, had pigeonholed him -- remove that comma
to be shown on Saturday Night Live, this wasn't a success -- change the comma to a semicolon
stars such as Steve Martin and Rudolf Nureyev appeared as guest hosts -- no, they weren't guest hosts, they were just guests.
(in which he was also interviewed by Judy Harris and created The Fantastic Miss Piggy Show) -- you give both these facts in the next paragraph, so they don't need to be here.

Did you write a Muppet entry in the end, the_jon_m?
How can you have a puppet on a radio show?
I'm guessing either:
a.) The cast turned up on the radio show claiming to be the Muppets and just did the voices.
or
b.) The cast turned up on the radio show with the Muppets puppets, and used the puppets in order to get into character.
Very much an exercise of the imagination either way - just like Terry Wogan's annual radio firework display where all the firework were imaginary.
