I believe the PC term is 'black' not 'coloured'.

meh.
It is probibly one of the worst things to call a colored, savage-like, spear throwing charecter. Id be interested to know of any similar non-pc charecters

Secretly Not Here Any More Posted Apr 17, 2004
I think the point that HPB was trying to make is that the term 'coloured' (with a 'u' because Oirish or not, you ain't American) is an offensive non-PC term, which shows a fair bit of hypocrisy about the name Zula being construed as offensive in your review.

Asmodai Dark (The Eternal Builder, servant of Howard, Crom, and Beans) Posted Apr 17, 2004
Theres no way of saying that she is colored without someone getting upset about it.
The Politically Incorrect Zula...
Secretly Not Here Any More Posted Apr 17, 2004
She's black!
You're either White/Caucasian, Black, Asian, Arabic or Latin/Hispanic. So therefore the way to describe her correctly would be black.

Ah well, whats done is done
Which reminds me, i still havent retracted my 'all film reveiwers are fickle' point yet
The Politically Incorrect Zula...
Secretly Not Here Any More Posted Apr 18, 2004
Well you are fickle.

But not all... I believe Awix would change his opinion sometimes but no without reason...
There's also the fact that you said ALL cinemagoers are there through advertising. No.
The Politically Incorrect Zula...
Asmodai Dark (The Eternal Builder, servant of Howard, Crom, and Beans) Posted Apr 18, 2004
Well thats wrong, as of course millions of dollars/pounds are spent on advertising for no reason...
The Politically Incorrect Zula...
[...] Posted Apr 18, 2004
Thousands are spent on TV commercials. You don't rush out to get a car, or soap or...

Asmodai Dark (The Eternal Builder, servant of Howard, Crom, and Beans) Posted Apr 18, 2004
If you want to start a pointless arguement please do with someone else, i cant be bothered tonight im knackered.
The fact is that millions are spent on advertising to attract the majority of cinema-goers who will go see the best advertised, not the minority who go to different things depending on personal preferance
The Politically Incorrect Zula...
[...] Posted Apr 18, 2004
It's not a pointless. You said that ALL go to the cinema via advertising.
And you do not people they're wrong when you don't know.
The Politically Incorrect Zula...
Secretly Not Here Any More Posted Apr 18, 2004
'attract the majority' Your words then.
HPB's argument - 'you said ALL'
If you don't know what you're arguing about, you look like a pillock.

Asmodai Dark (The Eternal Builder, servant of Howard, Crom, and Beans) Posted Apr 18, 2004
So your saying HPB that the majority of cinema goers, go to the cinema and the millions of dollars of advertising, the countless tv interveiws, magazine exclusives, publicity photos etc, have no affect on the cinema going public? Everyone goes to the pictures/video shop/whatever and simply goes 'oo that one' or some other such statement.
I reiterate:
the MAJORITY (notice the emphesis) will watch the product because of advertising. the MINORITY will go and see the product because of some other reason.
This is based onmy own research into cinema, 18 months of media course, and my cinema going life in general. If you dont like my opinion which a far smarter man then myself has proven to me, then simply dont read my reveiws.
Im done, unsubscribing

You said that ALL cinema goers are there through advertising, I disagree, THAT is what I'm saying.
Of course you're unsubscribing which is extremely arrogant if you're discussing something with someone.
And you're not saying it's your opinion you're saying it is fact.
I'll just find reviews that agree with my opinion shall I? Oh wait there's no such thing.
If you don't want people giving a criticism then don't write reviews.
"which a far smarter man then myself" I'll presume you mean your lecturer well he's giving an opinion aswell based on statistics he's come across.
I've done Media Studies and unlike you seem to promote I don't flaunt myself as an omnipotent, omniscient Film God because I got a good grade.

Good point. I think that was a rather childish thing to do though, unsubscribing like that.
