Desert Rock / Stoner Rock

Kyuss' association with the Desert is obvious. In the music lyrics often refer to the Desert, and they used to hold Generator Parties in the middle of the Desert. This consisted of the speakers powered by generators and then just jamming.
Before long i had listened to "Sky Valley" over and over again. The amazing thing is that this music gets old. You know how you listen to a record for a while and then finally get bored? Well with Kyuss this doesnt happen. It is always fresh and pure. Before long i had bought all 4 of the Kyuss albums and the Greatest Hits, "Muchas Gracias".
Tragically in 1995 Kyuss called it a day. The life of the pioneers of Stoner Rock had ended. However they would leave a legacy that is still inspiring artists today, such as Auf Der Maur. Her favourite album being Kyuss' Blues for the Red Sun. And of course rising out of the ruins of Kyuss came Queens of the Stone age, Josh Homme's band. As well as Desert Session, Mondo Generator, Brant Bjork's solo careeer.
Of course Kyuss was not the only Stoner Rock band. Bands such as "Fu Manchu" arrived. "Fu Manchu" has the fuzzed out Guitar elements of Kyuss but, it is generally more catchy. Note that the Drummer of Fu Manchu was Brant Bjork who produced their first album as well.
