Offensive Language

0 Conversations

When offensive language was first created who knows how many years ago, it was meant to be used sparringly. "Cuss words" are the peak of our adjectives, they are the most emphatic of all the millions of words in the English language. Recently, I think since the 60's actually, so not exactly recently, but the point is, these words that are the extent of our being able to express ourselves are being squandered. People go around flinging these words and expressions around like they were confectionaries. The more people use them, the less emphatic they are. In fact, it turns out that the more one uses these words, the more unintelligent they would seem. Why can't we reach into the immense depths of our language and produce words that make a conversation interesting and save the strong language for purely strong topics?
