I played SS 1 . The best game I have ever played. Ever. (I have SS2 but I am waiting to get a ddecent system to run it on smiley - smiley SS was the scariest game I have played. Freaky freaky *shudder*. You have the basic premise correct that you are a hacker et al. but the tension building nightmare that it was. It is one of the few games that I have completed (and it took me over 27 hours) The attention to detail was amazing. The space station was like a working place, the music just increased the tension. To finish the game you had to go up and down the levels repetedly (level 3- dark with invisible mutants *shudder* still makes the adreneline pump just thinking about it) To travel between levels you used the lifts, they even had elevator muzak brilliant. This put Looking Glass as THE game makers ( Thief continues their domination as the thinking mans developers) My reecomendation get SS1 (with todays tech it will run like a dream it has modes for 640x480 how was that for forward thinking) ACE ACE ACE

Nod, I thought it was probably pretty good - it was rated as the best game ever in the review I read. Unfortunatley I only had a DX-33 at the time, with 8Mb RAM, so I wouldn't have been able to play it properly, had I bought it...

I might just think about doing what you recommend, and going out and buying it, though...

SS2 is well worth playing, in fact I'm currently going through the whole thing again, using mainly psionic skills this time...

I'm also planning a four-person mini-LAN-Party to take full advantage of the cooperative mode... we can each specialise in something different, and we'll try and complete the game in two days... it should be pretty neat.
