From the Hallowed Halls of The H2G2 Philosophers Guild,

we are proud to bring you, this weeks Philosophical
Phrases.

Phrases which stir questions to which you may never know the answer.

This week's phrases are a compilation from several members of the guild, enjoy:

  1. 'Wizards don't believe in gods in the same way that most people don't find it necessary to believe in, say, tables. They know they're there, they know they're there for a purpose, they'd probably agree
that they have a place in a well-organised universe, but they wouldn't see the point of *believing*, of going around saying, 'O great table, without whom we are as naught'. Anyway, either the gods are there
whether you believe it or not, or exist only as a function of the belief, so either way you might as well ignore the whole business and, as it were, eat off your knees.' (Terry Pratchett)
    - azahar

  2. 'The mind is like a metal. When we are young the metal is a liquid. As we grow older and experience life, our personalities change thus moulding the metal as it cools and hardens. The metal forms into the unique shape of our personalities. Strong experiences when a
person is young will affect the shape of the metal more than when they are old because the metal is vunerable to shaping then. Any experinces that happen once the metal has hardened will cause a dent in the
personality or a flaw if you wish. -Its our experiences that we have when were young that forms our personalities.' - _PsI_X_

  3. 'If a proved theory can be proved wrong, all things proved are not subject to being true' - The Professor
