Cute poem, B'El.
Ah, those awful voices! Does seem like they could come up with one that can be understood and doesn't make your skin crawl.
About six months ago, my Mac developed the strange habit of spontaneously starting to read my writing back to me. I don't know how that feature turns itself on, but when I am sitting all alone here in this attic, posting to H2G2 in the wee hours, it sure does make me sit up straight when the thing starts talking!

Thanks a lot, hstwrd.
You know, the trouble with this one is, that it's not a computer voice we're talking about, but my voice.
I recorded a short sentence to go with a short clip - thought as a possible intro for future AViator clips.

Youtube always loads in little chopped up bits for me, but the quality of those "wordletts" seemed fine to me -- especially when you consider that digital sound has an intrinsically strident quality.
I think you've nothing to apologize for.
(You should hear my voice on my answering machine -- I sound like a shrill six yr old! And I've studied voice, even.)

Well, it's not youtube's fault or anything, that's my voice all right.
I guess it's just that we aren't used to hearing our voice like others do, which makes them seem so horrible and unfamilair, don't you think?

There's definately something in what you say. But I still think it sounds fine (or would, if it loaded properly.)
