Dear H2G2 community,
I need your help. My teacher's contract is not being renewed next year. I need any help or advice on anything I can do. He is a very good teacher who deserves to stay at my school. I WILL NOT LET OUR RETARDED SCHOOL BORED GET AWAY WITH THIS! I need help, any advice, anything.
Aurtis

"Hang on to this !
Not that it is any good, but It will give you something to do!
Well about ning teachers. Have you searched the WEB for local authorities. As in what is the school assumed to to or who is to be addressed in thsi case?
Most communities, wheter in Australia South Africa or where on the world you may be, have something like an explaination about their actions. Perhaps you can find such site? "

Traveller in Time trying to guess what school, what country
"Well, it depends on many factors.
Why is this teacher send away? Or did he have a better offer?
Is it a private school, public or special ?
Childcare, university or something in between ?
Are there more students going to 'protest' ? "

If the school board is an elected body, political pressure through sympathetic newspaper stories, letter-writing campaigns, vocal attendance at their meetings, etc are all good tactics.
Just don't go getting yourself arrested!

He was not offered a better job, He is NOT leaving on his own free will.
Its a public school and not alot of people know about it yet. Just his high school chours class and a few others.

It's more of a local thing (to you) or an ican thing ( http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/ican/ ) rather than an h2g2 thing (other than people trying to tell you how to protest of course!).

I have changed my nick name to "Malcolm, Colin's Evil Twin". But at the top of the page, it says, "Hello TastyFurd" (which is my old Nickname) and sign-in doesn't recognize my new name! I have to sign in as TastyFurd! Why is this happening to me?!

The sign-in name is the one you gave when you registered and it doesn't change. The nickname or username you can change as many times as you like and it's the only one anyone on here will see.
(which is why it's not a terribly good idea to tell everyone what your sign-in name is )
Also - Malcolm - if you have a question such as this, it would be a good idea to start a new thread for it, or perhaps ask the person who ACEd you when you joined h2g2 (they're always very helpful - just go to their PS and start a new conversation, or post on the thread on your space). It's just that you've been posting on threads which are about other things.

Traveller in Time no idea what is happening to you
"But the thing you discribe is normal for the system.
You have an account (your number) this account requires a login name and a password. These are stored in the SSO database.
Besides that you can rename your tag, as it appears visible to others by using < <./>UserDetails</.> > This is stored in the DNA Database, like the other properties of the account such as postings you are informed of, entries you have created, score of the online Hitchhikers game, etcetera.
These are two independend Databases, nothing wrong with you, just confused . "

Simpost!
Malcolm - I see from your PS that Lil was your ACE: there aren't many people on here more helpful than Lil . So if you have a question like this, just go back to that thread where you were first welcomed and post on it.
(Questions about Colin the robot are another matter of course But there too, you start a thread for it).

"Glad to be of service
Though the idea to ask 'lil old me' is perhaps even better , you have no idea it is how few reactions the ACEs get on their greetings. Every reply to such greeting is a compliment . "
