"Real-Time" Help?
JCNSmith Started conversation Nov 21, 2006
Is there anyplace to go for "real-time" help? For example now 2323 GMT, 21 November '06. The system seems to be acting up. I can't see all the posts to a conversation. Posts I've already read keep showing up as unread. The "h2g2 Help" button on the left side of My Space doesn't seem to offer any real time help. HELP! I"m starting to panic!

Someone else was having problems earlier with posts not showing up on threads. That used to affect quite a lot of people intermittently a while back. I've been noticing the MP list acting up on and off too, eg showing my own latest posts as not having been read by me. It might be a server overload (including simply being part of the new deliberate post display delaying strategy from many months back - even before the 3-minute posting delays), one server being very out of sync with the others, or some sort of page cache in operation between you and the site.

It started doing the showing one's own postings as 'unread' new posts a while back ... Well I noticed it seemed to be runnning so smoothly last couple months as well

I'd say it has been at least a week and probably most of November but still not quite doing it all the time. Some posts do stay "read".

Thanks for the suggestion. Hitting the refresh button did seem to help. Whew! That's a relief! So then this is the real-time help spot, too, I gather? Worked this time, anyway.
Key: Complain about this post
