I am trying to write a journal entry but get an error screen when I follow the 'Create a journal entry link'. Is there any other way to get to the journal?

I think the Journal entry link is for those who are registered in H2G2.
Perhaps TT will come along and explain it further.

Oh right
Why is that then? When I first popped over here it said that I could use my registration there for here. Is there any way to register here without having to add a new profile?
Cheers for the help

no you have to sign up to h2g2 you can post because you are registered with a BBC message board

You could email h2g2.support at bbc.co.uk and ask them to move you to h2g2. make sure you include your U-number (U1674672)

It keeps saying '(soon)' near the top for me when I click 'publish'. Am I making an obvious mistake?

Previewing your Journal Entry

Well you do have a journal forum: F6031081?thread=Well you do have a journal forum: F6031081?thread=Well you do have a journal forum: F6031081?thread=Well you do have a journal forum: F6031081?thread=Well you do have a journal forum: F6031081 I don't use one myself. So I wondered if it is saying "soon" to you just because you only previewed rather than actually posting. So that's what it would say soon were you actually to press the post button. The other thing I wondered was whether you were new to h2g2 and thus having postings pre-moderated on the site. But your posts to this thread have come up rather quickly compared with the normal slowness of moderation. So it would then have to be something perverse that only applied to journal entries.

I am new to h2g2, but not to bbci; i have been on religion and ethics boards. I clicked 'publish' - not preview.
Kind regards,
Ed

Hello Ed,
It will be because you are subscribed to the other messageboards. I believe only those in h2g2 have the Journal facilities. I might be wrong, and no doubt someone will correct me if I am

The latest software changes applied separate PS pages to all sub-sites for which those were valid; but it's possible that that didn't include the journal too. In which case anyone who registered first with a sub-site that didn't allow journal use might well still be stuck that way. Jim Lynn might be the one to know what exactly was fixed (or not!) by that update.

Traveller in Time on his head
"What 'SEF' wrote. It used to be messageboard members did not have a Journal, as what they did see on HooToo was their 'message board' Personal Space. Since 27 September anyone posting to HooToo automagically gets the Journal on their HooToo Persoanl Space.
What i smore likely is that this is a case of the filther jumping in. This filther not only prevents posting some bad words, it is also known to remove Journal entries for moderation. You just do not see anything after pressing the submit button. For what I understand you should get an email if the Journal stays hidden, if it shows up (on average less then a working day) well, then it is published after some automated doubt.
We need clearly defined areas of doubt and uncertainty ! (read < <./>ThePost</.> >"
