Nice neat little job! smiley - smiley

It's enough of a taster, but the die-hard fans will probably want more...

On a style thing, instead of having the actors names in footnotes you could simply put them in parenthesis after the character name - Captain Jack (John B).

I did an Entry about Life On Mars here A10176914

Have a look at it and that may give you more of an idea of what others may want to see in regards to the show. smiley - smiley

I myself like what you've done as a neat intro to people who don't know about it. smiley - ok

That was the aim - rather than a full edited guide entry. But if you think it's worth it, i'll continue it - your LoM entry looks like it'll be a lot of help.

Thanks smiley - smiley

Oh I definitely think it's worth developing! And to be honest there's a large fan-base here on h2g2 who are sure to lend a hand smiley - smiley

And what with Jack returning to Doctor Who later in the year, interest will probably be renewed in the character, and Torchwood...

Can't wait.

I've detailed the characters more thoroughly and given details of creation and production. I'll be able to find more on that somewhere, hopefully. smiley - smiley

There are some typos;

Remove footnote 1 and add (Eve Myles) as you have done to the others

With executive producer Julie Gardner, who had also worked on the new series of Doctor Who, and an excellent team of writers, Torchwood was created. --> this sentence does not seem to work somehow (sounds a bit odd when read outloud), can it be reworded a bit?

Despite what I say below, an expansion on the Episode Guide would help (you have already mentioned spoliers smiley - winkeye).

and discovers and unbelievable --> an unbelievable

Owen sets out to investigate what is going. --> add an 'on'

spread and opens up, --> spreads

and do a proper link to the BBC website of Torchworch (I'd tell you how to do it if I knew smiley - blush) Someone else will help that.

Needs mentioning that Capt Jack can't die

Question, which I doubt could be answered, but here goes .... He arrived on Earth in WW2, so how goes in 1 episode he was around in the Boar War ?

Did anybody see the Dead Ringer's take on it.

They only investigate weird aliens that have a strong welsh streak in them, and only if they have slept with one of the team at one point. and only if they appear in Cardiff

Good work smiley - ok However, it's a bit odd that the plot descriptions get shorter and shorter as the series progresses - I stopped watching this after the weird cannibal episode so I'm not sure if this is simply a reflection of the actual plots smiley - erm

You have no idea how painful that would be, tjm. Some of the episodes have extremely anticlimactic endings.

Nice article.

Not sure it's strictly accurate to say that Torchwood was introduced in Tooth & Claw - the name is used in earlier episodes, and the organisation isn't seen until the last 2-parter. I suppose it is when we first get a clear idea of what it means though.

Mr. Dreadful - But really I'm not actually your friend, but I am...

Good Entry... just one slight factual error: the real Cap'n Jack was a pilot working with the RAF, not a soldier.

The Apprentice

Torchwood was first mentioned in 'The Christmas Invasion'.

As of the events recounted in 'Army of Ghosts'/'Doomsday' three different instances of Torchwood existed, as opposed to three versions existing since Queen Victoria established the Institute.

As mentioned elsewhere, all references to soldier in the Captain Jack entry need replacing with 'pilot'.

The connection between Jack's resurrection by Rose and his current resistance to death has not been categorically established.

'Out of Time' deals with three people (on a plane) who fall through the Rift. It isn't a 'fault' in the Rift - it's simply getting bigger.

The summary of 'They Keep Killing Suzie' seems a little adrift. Suzie specifically created the murder scenario as she presumably realised the Resurrection Gauntlet had a glitch that could allow her to resume true life again at the expense of another's.

You make reference to 'a rift' on more than one occasion - but this is 'the' Rift that the 9th Doctor aggravated and tore further open when he attempted to recharge the TARDIS in 'Boom Town' and which the Gelth used in 'The Unquiet Dead' to enter our world.

The latter episodes will certainly need expansion.

I'm sure I can provide more feedback later.

>>all references to soldier in the Captain Jack ....

points out that it was more likely that the flash-backs to Capt Jack's past were to a soldier rather than a pilot,
