A Conversation for The Cranky Gardener

reblooming Poinsettias

quizzical

I've had a couple that rebloomed on their own. They sat by a south-facing French door, and apparently the alternating light and darkness of the fall equinox was enough to get things started.

My Christmas cacti always seem to bloom around Easter, though. I have much better luck with silk plants! smiley - smiley

I am truly impressed. smiley - ok I used to plant them outside when we lived in Texas. They would grow to a hugh size, but never had the brilliant colors again even there unless I covered them. I had one that turned into a bush about 5 feet tall. I covered it (outside, of course) every day for 10 weeks and it bloomed out again with hugh blood-red petals. People used to drive past the house, then back up and take pictures of it. I really love poinsettias, as you probably gathered. smiley - blush

My Christmas cactus bloomed this year for Thanksgiving. smiley - erm

Hsmiley - rainbow
