*makes note* must fire up scanner and replace illegal cartoon ... with another illegal cartoon...
I think Garius has gone home to his family for the evening, Looney, but I'm sure he'll want to discuss NZ with you. I'm tempted, myself, so let me know the thread; I'd like to hear more too.
Am I going to have to start a new thread already tonight? I thought I had a pristine one ready last night, but poor feverish Tabitha showed up and needed a hold on reality.
I also think I saw my co-caretaker around here a few minutes ago.
green tea anyone?

Actually, a cup of green tea would be nice.
My guests aren't due for an hour, so I can continue to clean while I sip some tea with you.
I saw B-17, too. Dashed in and stormed out.
Mmm, more Kilban. Good.

green tea for a red rejection...
*sips tea*
nice evening in Florida -- loud cicadas, cumulus clouds all yellow and red in the distance.

green tea for redbeard...
You've been here just a week, now? but have you observed what a remarkable and self-defining place it is? As I said last night with, probably, no-one to hear, it combines real conversation with play and not a little performance art.

Ahh, no one may be there to hear, but it all gets recorded, and can be played back later, so yes, I did catch the remark and agree completely. Even that is part of the performance art aspect -- interesting, not even knowing who your audience is.
*sips tea*
Yes, it's been just a week, and it is a remarkable place. It takes a real commitment to become a part of it, but I think it's worth it.

*puts down sandpaper and scalpel IRL and comes for a virtual Seville Orange tea and some toast and marmalade*
Models are fun to make on one condition - time. ie., any time that isn't a few hours before a deadline. I have 12 days, which is good, but a year's worth of projects to complete in one form or other, which is less good. At least it's mostly presentation - no actual designing. Which I think is a good thing...
Time management was never my strong point...

Hi, Cakewalker,
I heard scalpel and thought surgeon for a second, then tried to figure out how the sandpaper fit in. But model-making makes sense. Boy that takes patience... I don't know if I'd be able to stick with it.
Lil, got to go. Guests arriving in 20 minutes and I'd better be there to greet them. See you later.

Ah, our architecture student.
*pops wheat bread in toaster without asking*
I am finding the same as you, that it's work, but it's worth it, even though results are as ephemeral as any happening. And I feel as genuine a friendship for the entities I've got to know here as I do for the ones in my meat world.
Cakewalker you remind me of my days at art college when my roomie's projects were due and we spent the night cutting matteboard.

*afterthought*
I am what I post ... and so is Ook. Yes, his case is even more interesting because he's a construct by mutual consent.
*ook looks up, concerned*
Here, have a banana.

Cakewalker Posted May 26, 2000
Mm. Yes, it's odd having friends you've never met, but their characters are rather more complete in my mind than those of some friends I have IRL! Though based on some of the posts I've made I dread to think what image I've formed in other's minds
Oddly enough, I've found that a friend's ex is a big fan of this site. I don't *think* I've bumped into her yet...
*munches on toast* Anyway, I'm looking forward to another form of creativity when I've finished my degree - I'm determined to teach myself how to cook. I've not fared too badly over my three years at University, though my mother's convinced I've lost weight, which is worrying (I'm a bit of a beanpole already...) More importantly, I need to take care with a veggie diet to get all the right bits in (vitamine-wise) which you need to have more knowledge of grub than I have to do right.

Heaven knows, there are plenty of books on nutrition. Interesting how they disagree.
I've always been a conservative eater -- don't like complicated food, am allergic to shellfish -- and when I first moved to England I became a very inventive cook, simply so that I could replicate the foods I was accustomed to back home. This had the effect of making a good cook out of me, if the popularity of one's cooking is anything to go by.
*pops in more bread for herself*
*Ook looks hopeful*
Must remember your tiddlywinks. If this isn't a silly question ... when you're involved in conversation here, is Ook real to you?
