The Q conundrum
Is mise Duncan Started conversation Nov 29, 1999
Despite Irish having the letter Q in its alphabet, there isn't a single place name (town, mountain, river etc.) in the Republic whose name begins with "Q". There was a £20,000 prize offered by the government to anyone finding such a place, but it wasn't claimed.
So - we need a Q word, with which to rename an unnatractively named part of Ireland.
(Queen... isn't allowed. This is a Republic )
