how many people are going to be upset with your entry if it gets to guide status.. you see, the british, who presumeably make up over half of the population on this particular web site, think that peanut butter and jelly mixed together is one of the most noxious things you can do. i learned this one summer when i was a camp counselor and we had a lot of brittish folk there.... and of course we always had pb&j for the kids and you've never seen so many green counselors over something so innocent-seeming.

they also can't stand root beer for the most part.

The reason we (or at least I) can't stand root beer is that over here, I've no idea about over there, at the dentists we have a mouth wash that tastes exactly like root beer. So when I tried root beer the first time it reminded me of the stuff at the dentists. Not a nice association.

There is no dental mouthwash flavored like root beer here.... I was told that the aversion came from the fact that root beer tastes just like some muscle cream over there smells. The equivalent product over here is called "BenGay" or "IcyHot"... I don't remember what it's called there.

Too bad though. Root beer floats are so good!!!

The stuff is called Deep Heat and yes, it reaks. Root beer floats? I take it that's ice cream stuffed in a glass like over here? If so, what a waste of ice cream. Mind you I do like floats. The best drink to make it with though is either Cream Soda (you've got to have that there, in fact I think you lot invented it.) or my speciality, Budvar (the Chezch one). We make our own ice cream and invariably it's alcoholic, float that in Budvar and sit back in the sun, ahh.

yummmm, floats. The only rootbeer I can palate is the freshly brewed type.

As for floats, there is nothing that can compare to a Coca Cola Float. I normally don't like Coke because of the sugar coating of the teeth residue thing that happens. Also, the carbonation seems to be a bit higher in Coke than in say rootbeer. Anyway, the addition of ice cream mitigates both the carbonation thing and the sugar on teeth thing.
