Those little touchpad mouse thingies

I can't speak for everyone (well, I could, but they'd probably get angry and say I wasn't representing them properly) but I find those little finger-touch mouse thingies on laptops and notebooks to be quite tiresome. They're OK at first, you think, wow, this is a very clever little thingie, no cords to get tangled, no little ball to get all gummed up; and oh, look, if you tap it, it's just like clicking the mouse button! Cool! But after a few short minutes of use a peculiar feeling starts to creep over you. It's somewhat similar to frustration, but different somehow, more physical. Like being on your mark, getting set, then waiting for a starting gun that never goes off, or that peculiar feeling you get when someone else is driving and you think they're going to turn so you get yourself all prepared for it and then they don't turn. You get a feeling in your chest like a slightly acidic pudding is congealing there. Your head feels warm and pressurized, as though a swath of sheepskin were tied tightly around it. And you may find yourself not breathing for long periods of time. Your mouth hangs open. You cease blinking. Most unpleasant. Eventually, you feel as though you could push your finger right through the pad, which would offer little, if any, resistance, so you try it and of course it is still solid which frustrates you all the more. Then you start to feel like you could push your fist at high velocity through the LCD panel and get a real desktop unit with a real corded mouse with one of those cool little scroll wheel button thingies. But you don't; you just keep it all bottled up inside.

I just thought I would share that. Have a good day.
