Apparently they sometimes forget they can't fly. If scared, they climb up trees and jump out of them. Do themselves some considerable damage in the process, too.
Just goes to show what natural selection can come up with when you haven't got any natural predators...

I think Homo Sapiens is a more bizzare thing for natural selection to come up with when you have no predators than a kakapo is...
