In honour of the adaptation of Starship Titanic that is being broadcast on BBC Radio 4 on 19 December, 2021 http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m0012pjv do you have thoughts about your experience of playing the game, or reading the novelisation?
We were surprised to learn that Starship Titanic only gets a brief mention in the Edited Guide at the moment, so it will be good if we can improve on that

I can still hear John Cleese counting down as the ship's autodestruct system.
Oh, and I'm also still disgusted by the idea of putting mustard sauce on chicken.

I still have a copy of 'Starship Titanic' the game somewhere, and Terry Jones' novel too. As well as a couple of posters I won at an early h2g2 meet-up, one of which had been on my wall.
I know some of the earliest h2g2 accounts had been created out of Starship Titanic accounts, though not sure how that worked.

Yeah, I got here through Starship Titanic. When I heard about it's forthcoming release I signed up for updates. Then one day I got an odd email about a new website version of the Hitchhikers Guide. I signed up with thousands of others on 9 September, 1999.
I really wish I still had a copy of that email.

Chicken McNuggets are so bad that you *need* mustard sauce to make them palatable. Sorry.

I'm a little disappointed it's just the one episode. I didn't realize that when I listened to it just now. I kept thinking, "my things are progressing rather swiftly".
I suppose I'll just have to see if the game still works on my modern computer. If not I can D/L it from GOG.

I was disappointed that it was only one episode too - you assemble a cast including Michael Palin and Simon Jones and then only give them a couple of lines to read each...
As for the others, there wasn't time to appreciate the different characters or what they were up to, as by the time they've discovered a problem it's been immediately solved and resolved.
But a short 'Starship Titanic' radio adaptation is still infinitely better than no 'Starship Titanic' radio adaptation. And I'm re-reading the novel now.

I watched the 1981 "Hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy" on youtube last night.
Some days life seems like a titanic struggle to survive/make sense of things.

I loved the game. The graphics were beautiful, the sound suitably atmospheric & gameplay quirky. Had to buy the guide to be able to complete it as I'm a pretty rubbish gamer.
Disappointed in the book, just didn't have the same oomph as h2g2, nor as good a storyline as the game.

It was tough, but I was determined and I managed to finish the whole game without hints.
That said, I still haven't managed to get very far on the original HHGttG Infocom text adventure.
