Quite a sad doodle today in North America, Western South America, Australia, New Zealand, Italy, Greece, Hungary, Czechia, Viet Nam, and Kenya.

On a lighter note, today's doodle announces the Great conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn which happens tonight. I've found two links, one for the Northern Hemisphere and one that should cover the Southern Hemisphere, but is apparently only visible in South America.

Today you have to cut up pizzas. As usual I am a bit slow on the uptake but by the 3rd round, I had figured out how to play. (It didn't help my score.)
Clicking on the doodle takes you straight to the game without any explanation.
The first result I got when trying to find out what the significance of pizza on today's date was, was the Hindustan Times - must be because it is already later in the day there.
They say: "Google Doodle is celebrating one of the most popular Italian dishes, loved all around the world - pizza - with an interactive and animated doodle game. According to Google, on this day in 2007, the culinary Art of Neapolitan 'Pizzaiuolo' was inscribed on the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. To celebrate the day, Google released a fun game for its users."

Today's doodle is something to do with vaccinations (for Covid, of course)
If you click on it, it is supposed to show you a map of your nearest vaccination centre. It would have me go to France! I thought it may be because I didn't have GPS switched on on this device, but I just checked, and I do!

That gave me a flashback to the little girl I used to eat lunch with in sixth grade - she LOVED Dusty Springfield.
