I have an idea what we need to know, but nothing concrete yet. This is going to take a lot more planning before I get anything concrete.

We could add in a tech strand from "Vanished", where anybody with a badge can make technical pronouncements about how things work, just as long as they *always* get it wrong.
Examples: "We can't triangulate the signal because we only have two vans in the field and you need three to triangulate"
"The missing Dead Sea Scroll was excavated from under the Temple Mount..." (Indicating a flat sheet of parchment about A1 size...)
"The doctors couldn't have easily noticed it was just a pint of her blood diluted in a gallon of plasma..."
The show is so bad that the lead actor arranged to have his character shot dead around the end of episode six just to get out of it.

Stargate is in the Guiness book of world records as the longest running sci-fi show!
And i presume that it is a compliment that the posts slow down when i leave. What would you do without me?
As for Discworld i'm reading Wyrd Sisters at the minute! It's Brilliant.
British Sci-Fi shows: Torchwood is a spi-off from Doctor Who, that's really cool. I'm not sure about other british sci-fi shows.

"Stargate is in the Guiness book of world records as the longest running sci-fi show!"
Presumably 29 series of "Doctor Who" don't count, then? Or is your Guinness Book the edition that was published just after Stargate passed Doctor Who's record number of /episodes/, just before Stargate was canceled and Doctor Who was renewed?
The only other British sci-fi show of recent years worth mentioning was "Primeval", which was ITV's attempt to cash in on the BBC's success with "Doctor Who". It knocked the socks off of "Torchwood"... There's only been one series so far, and no word of a second yet.
In the past, of course, we've had "Blake's Seven" (TV), "The Hitch-Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy" (Duh! Radio and TV), "Earthsearch" (Radio), "Hyperdrive" (TV, crappy comedy) and "Red Dwarf". (TV, excellent comedy)
Those are all that pop to mind at the moment; I'm sure I'll remember some more later.

"Oi, what's wrong with Hyperdrive?"
It's just a personal thing, but I fail to see any humour in comedies that are entirely predicated on "Embarrassment". I find that with Hyperdrive you can see the punchlines coming a mile away and I spend that entire time clenching my buttocks. It's not an enjoyable experience.
