Hi LibrarianPear:

I quite like it, but here are my comments.

I'm not sure that so much detail about what tuna and mayonnaise are is neccessary; others may disagree.

"Consisting of tuna, mayonnaise, bread, butter or margarine" - You say later that butter/margerine are not essential, so I'd such perhaps saying so here too.

"Mayonnaise (also known as mayo)" - I think the eds generally prefer asides like that to be put in footnotes rather than brackets.

It's not edited guide practice to have a link in a header, can yoiu link to the word "bread" the first time it occurs in the paragraph instead please?

"sogggy" -> "soggy"

"Whichever method you choose to use, you will also need to decide whether or not you are also going to spread some kind of margarine or butter on your bread, before adding the tuna and mayonnaise."

It may be worth mentioning that adding a spread will add to the calorie content of the sandwich. Usually butter and margerine are used to make the sandwich less dry, but if one is using mayonnaise it's not really neccessary.

"Possibly the most important thing to remember when making a tuna and mayonnaise sandwich is that you must drain the tin of tuna." In this case, shouldn't this go at the beginning of the section?

"dietry" -> "dietary"

"Now for the easy bit: Spread" -> "...:spread" (no capital)

"into triangle" -> "triangles"

Overall a good effort, nice job! smiley - biggrin

Hi LibrarianPear smiley - smiley

I've read this beforesmiley - ermis it a Flea Market rescue?

On each section, could you wrap the text in tags:

Name of header
Text goes here.

Next header
Text goes here.

It separates the text from the headers and makes it *much* easier to read, thanks.smiley - smiley

Also, you have a link in a Header (bread, I think) which won't be allowed, can you move the link to your first mention of "bread" and remove it from the Header.

Thankssmiley - ok

What's strange about that? Looks as if the author has deleted his/her entry.

I just think it's a bit odd that the entry has been deleted after being rescued from the flea market, almost like the author is still around (must have come back at least once) and realised it wasn't needed anymore. Anyway, it doesn't matter. smiley - smiley

Why stop here? Why not make a University project of it? This one, one on cheese and pickle, one on BLTs, one on chicken tikka and one on ham and onion.

Nice entry! And I like the info about the ingredients smiley - cool

One thing:
It is easier to get mayonnaise out of jars, even though the squeezy bottles are supposed to make it easier to get the mayonnaise out

easier overload: how about something like

It is easier to get mayonnaise out of jars, even though the squeezy bottles are supposed to make it less troublesome to get the mayonnaise out.

I think this is suffering from a lack of organisation. It also seems like a lot of unneccessary content has been added (as well as a fair bit of repetition) to lengthen what is basically a very short entry.

All of the information on tuna would be better suited to an entry about tuna. The varieties of tuna (didn't see albacore) are pertinent to the subject, but the rest really isn't. Also, most of your entry assumes the tuna is from a can, but you never really specify that this is preferred, or at the very least, that the tuna should be pre-cooked.

The extraneous information about the mayonnaise was actually a little off-putting.

Some other things you could include (jsut suggestions):
You could mention the difference in taste, texture and nutrition between tuna packed in water and in oil.
Toasting the bread - divine!
It's called a tuna salad sandwich in the US.
Other add-ins: sweet pickle relish, onion, chopped celery, boiled egg, shredded cheese.

Hi GB,

Yes, it's a Flea Market rescue! Will reply in more detail when it's not so late at night. Sorry all for the bad form (not replying, etc). Thanks for all the advice.

Well, I have amended the entry according to the advice given my Elentari and Galaxy Babe. I am getting to the stage where I wish I'd never started it, to be honest! I will try and add some more information when I have time, although I am a bit peturbed by the conflicting views about whether or not to include information about tuna, etc. Is the entry too long and repetitive, or do I need to add more information?

Sorry, I am having a confused, and slightly cross, day.

Thanks for the help.

I certainly don't mean to be discouraging! smiley - smiley

The conflicting views on the tuna info are exactly that: views.
The subject of your Entry is tuna and mayonnaise sandwiches. The size and seasonal migration patterns of tuna aren't terribly pertinent to how to go about eating one. This extra information distracts from the point of your Entry. This is *my* view, and as the author it is up to you to consider or discard my input.

Soryy Milos, I think I was just having a discouraging day generally last time I posted! I might see what else I could add and then decide whether the entry can do without the information about tuna etc.
