Traveller in Time readin search rules
"Somewhere in the header of the HTML document is stated Robots Nofollow NoLink NoIndex and the like.
The idea is that search engines not store this page as a link. Only the index of Edited Guide entries is accessable for the search engines. If they find it.
So you have to find an external site to promote a word to get it indexed by Google. "

I don't think it needs to be an edited entry, you just need to wait for Google to do its indexing.
If you google "Mrs Mills h2g2" that will find an entry I'm working on and that's definatley not edited!

Traveller in Time searching BBC
"Some pages get indexed by Google, this is completely unintetional.
Most often you will see a strange base-site name (http: //news.bbc.co.uk) or the like. "
