"Tales of the Cape #2
The Final Part of HPB's Trilogy "

I have no problem with two parts being a trilogy - DNA did it with five, and I know that it was originally 3 parts... I just wanted to say something smiley - smiley

By the way, I liked Several's succinct description of the baseball news, and h2g2 life this week was great!

smiley - blacksheep - too lazy to post below each entry tonight.

Tsk!!!... Such a lazy boy!!! And imagine all those people that will probably not read this thread and so will never know the enjoyment they have brought to you hum drum life... ~huge sigh~

As to the Trilogy thing... you are quite correct... ~grin~... HPB's story was originally intended to be in three parts... but upon seeing the last two instalments it was decided that they should be combined into one final episode... thus only two... but as you so rightly pointed out... if the great DNA could make more of a Trilogy... the Post Team thought in their great and infinite wisdom the HPB could make less of one... so there you have it... striaght from the cats mouth...

Why doesn't Awix get some credit for what he's done with TotC?

In what way HPB? He was acknowledged as writing the introduction thingy... Me wasn't aware he was a co-writer...

Wrote more than enough to be just mere polishing and he gave me the concept.

Hmm... me wasn't privy to your orignal emails about this... did you ask about Awix being co-credited?? Anyway... me thinks anyone who reads it will realise from the opening piece by Awix that he helped with the process of bringing it to the Post Readers...

Just a thought... (me has them occasinally) if you would like me could add at the bottom to each piece...

'Based on an original concept by Awix'

Is that the sort of thing you were thinking about?

I wonder if that's a complement or insult...

Ripper, the Almost - recharging writer

I don't know.

MaW liked being co-credited on the final Next to the Custard, because he had contributed a lot towards it and was happy with how it turned out.

I liked the Tale of the Cape... I am still wondering why it's only two episodes, because I think it has loads of potential for more, so I'd say it's a compliment that Awix directed all the credit your way. However, if you really think he's worth an acknowledgement, write his name in anyway.

It was jsut a one-off to test response to it to see if it could be bigger...

I given Awix credit on my fiction space (FRAGMENTED institution) but if he doesn't want credit for his, what I would consider significant, work on TotC then so be it.

I just don't want to be given all credit when it wasn't a straight-forward one man job.

Awix

Well, too kind as ever, but I have some input into all the fiction that I prep for the Post (that's my job, after all) - sometimes it's significant, as with this and - he's away now so he won't know I've said this - Verc's stories, and sometimes it isn't, as with The Edge and Only Slightly and Errors of Comedy (coming soon folks!).

It would seem odd for me to get a credit on some of it but not the rest, so I just settle for my credit on the Post Team page. If I really wanted writing credits I would write original fiction of my own rather than merely meddling after someone else has done all the hard work... smiley - smiley

Yes Awix was a great help, particularly in the Post Roman / Dark Age bit of the story. I think that bit would have been very different without his influence.

But Awix is a great help overall. I would have no qualms about having Awix take some of the credit for the the way the story panned out.

Sometimes when time was not always available to me, Awix would get some quite rough versions of the story, and would have to "Straighten" them out a bit, which he did extreemly well. smiley - ok
