A Work in Progress...
You may have seen this word bandied around the site for the last couple of years. I hope this may clear a few things up.
Firstly what is a digibox1?
Put simply a digibox is a term used for the receivers of digital television in the U.K. Now there are four main suppliers of digital television in the U.K. These are BSkyB2, ntl:home, Telewest Broadband3 and Freeview.
The term digibox is the one used by BSkyB for their receivers and as Sky are the largest digital television supplier in the U.K with over 6 million customers, its become a term to cover all Set-Top Boxes.4
Telewest's STB:
Uses Liberate's DTVNavigator browser and with an always on return path gives broadband speed, but with a poor memory it can't download much without crashing.
