Hi mosey9... this isn't really suitable for the Edited Guide as it stands, as it's just a list - you might like to have a look at the Writing-Guidelines to get an idea of what's required by the EG. Another good place to look is the Month page which lists all the new entries to hit the front page of the Guide over the last month, which is a good barometer of the kind of standard that's being looked for.

I see you're quite new around here, so welcome to h2g2! You've submitted anhaga's entry to PeerReview - and although the facility exists to do that, it's not particularly usual these days to submit other people's entries... don't worry, you weren't to know! But as anhaga has already had several excellent entries accepted into the Edited Guide, I'm sure it'll be submitted when it's good and ready. If you *are* submitting someone else's entry to PR, it's often a good idea to leave a message on their personal space letting them know you've done it.

If you're just wanting to make a comment on an entry that you've found that isn't in Peer Review, it's worth checking out the conversations at the bottom of the entry to see if there's anything worth joining in with - or if not, there's the 'start a new conversation' button.

Don't be discouraged by this - we're always looking for people to help contribute to the Edited Guide, and you're definitely in the right place to do that - even if you've nothing to submit yourself at the moment, you can be a great help by looking around PeerReview and commenting helpfully on entries that other people have submitted.

A couple of links finally that you might find useful:
A1037323 The Canadian Researchers Club (assuming things Canadian are what you're interested in, there's quite a strong Canuck community on here as far as I know)
and if you're interested in writing about where you come from, A1286886 might be a good place to look to give you a few ideas.

Any other questions, just give us a shout.

All the best,
Number Six

The entry itself was written by anhaga, and the very title suggests that they don't consider the entry finished. Not sure it every will be finish either, as such a list can always be continued.

For future reference, mosey9, it's considered bad form to submit someone else's entry to PeerReview. I can see that you have some comments to make about the entry, but the way to do that is to starts a converstion at the end of the entry.

I would ask you to remove the entry from Peer Review, though I suspect that anhaga might do so soon if you don't.

If the submitter is not the author and owner, can they remove it?

That's something I've never been able to work out. Would you consider popping over to my personal space and submitting something?

Done. I have just submitted A2161504 (stuff). It probably pays to wait say 5 minutes, in case this is one of those things only updated once in a while. I'll check that it's in peer review, then try to remove it, and post again when that has been tried.

Yes. The submitter can remove the entry, so that clears that up.

Just for record, the Shannon Tweed link takes me to ALL the wrong places.

I wondered whether I should risk trying that at work... although it turns out I had nothing to worry about. Just out of interest, why were you particularly interested in Shannon Tweed?

And Terry Fox could do with inclusion.

I was just trying to add some names to anhaga's list, and correct others, not "submit anhaga's entry to Peer Review".
I'm glad to hear that Terry Fox is internationally famous, wasn't sure. Another famous Canadian is Polanyi (Nobel), but I can't remember his first name.

I believe you, mosey9. But submit anhaga's entry to PeerReview is precisely what you did. That being the case, would you mind taking it back out of Peer Review?

Once that is done, this thread will continue to exist as a conversation hanging off the end of the entry, which is what I think you intended in the first place.

Sorry about this. This was never meant for PR. I've been away for about a week. I would have removed it immediately if I'd been here.

The bloody title says clearly that it is a list in bloody progress. Why would anybody have thought to submit it? Especially when the author is clearly still active on the site.smiley - steam

Chill Dude.

Although I would like to see this as some kind of literary entry that would be acceptable to PR. Just MHO.
