Acid Override - The Forum A1146917

I've only been fencing a year at birmingham unis fencing society.
I've only tried foil but plan to move onto the other when I get a chance (read when I find a spare saber/epee, I suspect everyone has bough their own. Foils on the other hand are plentifull and cost me £10/year to rent - and that incudes the rest of the kit and membership in some other societies too)

velartia

velartia here! New member to h2g2 and relatively new to fencing - been a foilist for all of 4/5 months! Part of a club in the North West, entered a local competition for U20s foil and came 3rd woohoo! (Yes, there was only three of us in our group, but never mind!)

Unconformity kinda directed me to this area, but I'm not quite sure what this is!

I'm not so sure i would call fencing an adventurous sport, and your phrasing opticalillusion, leads me to believe you have no knowledge of fencing whatsoever.

Viojen 2*16+1+3+6=42. Fencing-it's escrime!

Hi all.
Jen here (U216136) I fence foil at my high school (in the US). Just starting my second year. So glad the season's begun again!

I've been thinking about trying some other weapons, although high school fencing in my state is only for foil. So it doesn't leave me much opportunity....Also thinking about trying a pistol grip at some point (maybe at the end of this season?), but I'm lefthanded and the only people with pistol grips on my team are righties. But I will do it at some point! Actually just waiting for next year, when I shouldn't have a conflict with the day there's fencing at the local Y. There's a more diverse group there than just high school foil.

Also, does anybody know of any fencing/sword blobs?

What is a blob?

If it is just another word for blog, try www.livejournal.com/users/fencing

Also www.fencingforum.com is quite cool.

Not exactly...blob is just another term for picture, one that is used on h2g2. I'm looking for an appropriate picture to put on my U space.

But I do enjoy the forum at http://www.fencing.net

And other news...I'm a switch fencer now. Normally left-handed, but tendinitis is driving me to boredom. So I've started righty foil to keep myself entertained at practice. Not doing too badly actually. Lost a lot of my bouts 3-2 (we often fence to 3 for times' sake), and won a few as well, to close scores.
