That's it
Yhe metals need to be as far separated as possible in the 'Reactivity Series' (there may be an EG Entry on this to link to), and copper (e.g. coin) and zinc fit the bill well enough. An iron nail will do instead of the zinc and will probably be easier to get hold of

Well, this is the nearest Entry that there is to 'Reactivity Series'.
(n.b. Any fruit will work, and the electrolyte can even be provided by a potato)

No I was just curious.
I didn't try feeding coca-cola to rats to see if they exploded, when it was suggested in PR, but I still added it to my entry

Currently trying to work out whether to put this in or not
Lemons are also supposed to counteract the effects of narcotics, soothe sunburn, cure jaundice, reduce temperature and act as a substitute for quinine. As well as being used to remedy epilepsy, make toothpaste, create invisible ink and make a bleaching agent and be used in witchcraft (wicca).The rind of the lemon creates an aromatherapy oil which can cleanse the skin. Lemon oil has been used to treat athlete's foot, chilblains, colds, corns, dull skin, flu, oily skin, spots, varicose veins, and warts.

Great entry, very thorugh. It's nearly 'ripe', I think. It should be 'picked' soon Hee hee... funny... joke... yeah...
But are you pretty much happy with the Entry, though? Except for the history section, apparently...

Gnomon - time to move on Posted Aug 23, 2006
It's getting there, Opti. I haven't time to give it yet another detailed read, but two things jump out at me:
1. You should say in the very first sentence what lemons are. They are a type of fruit.
2. The only size you give for lemons is "up to 30cm". This is ridiculous. While there may be a type of lemon that grows that big (that's a foot, right?) it is certainly not typical. Find out what size a normal lemon is by measuring one, and put this into the entry as a typical size. Then you can say that some varieties grow up to 30cm.
I may get a chance to do a detailed read tomorrow.

You certainly need to work on the history section, since it is a mass of unconnected and contradictory facts. If you know when lemons were introduced, say so. If you don't know, then don't say. As it is, what you have written doesn't make much sense.
For example,
By 700 AD lemons had reached Iraq -- this doesn't make sense. If lemons were first grown to the east of Iraq and had spread to the west of Iraq by 300BC, they must have been in Iraq before 300 BC.
who introduced the lemon to Europe near the end of the 12th century -- again this doesn't make sense if lemons were in Greece in 300 BC (Greece is part of Europe) and in Sicily in 1000 AD (also a part of Europe).
--------------------------------------------------------
Typos, Grammar etc:
are yellow and ovoid-oblong, they may possess -- change the comma to a semicolon
can reach 6 m -- remove space between 6 and m
(20 ft)in height -- insert space after closing bracket
posess --> possess
posess thorny branches, which make an open crown and grow alongside -- remove the comma, and insert one after crown
various products/investments, which have produced -- remove the comma
sour taste in the mouth'. -- remove the apostrophe/closing quote
is called a true 'bitter' lemon -- is it really? Lemons are not bitter, they are sour. Bitter and sour are two distinct tastes.
F. N. Meyer --> FN Meyer
spread to Greece during 300 BC -- just that one year? Word it as:
spread to Greece in around 300 BC
whether or not the romans --> whether or not the Romans
Ancient Rome. For paleobotanical and literary evidence
-->
Ancient Rome, for paleobotanical and literary evidence
during 200AD.--> in around 200 AD.
I'll try and look at the rest later.

Ignoring history for a moment I've sorted all the corrections and added some of my own. However, there are a few sentences which don't really make sense on their own that need looking at.
