YAY someone else who likes Marillion and Jethro Tull! I was begining to think they were mutually exclusive or something.
Those are definately on my fave band list, along with Queen (but of course, shouldn't really need to be mentioned one would hope) Pink Floyd and lots of others I can't think of due to the fact that it's 8am...

Bob Marley and the Wailers are one of the greatest bands of all time. Exodus, Kaya and Survival are all must buys. My favourite song is the Music Video version of Three Little Birds, as that has a really laid back guitar solo in the middle that for some reason is not on the album.

I couldn't name them all. I'm listening to Queens of the Stone Age- Songs for the Deaf at the moment though.
Can I make a couple of suggestions?
1)Musicians Pit
2)Grunge Corner

I just bought BRMC (Black Rebel Motorcycle Club's 1st album) and that's quite good.
I agree with Daraline - hair metal is great. I need role models with big hair to make me feel less of a frizzy freak (damn secondary school playground styles evil facists want me to conform never I say never trails off into disgruntled muttering )
I am sad cos I have to go back to uni next week and will suddenly find computer access much harder (so less h2g2 for me sigh) and I won't be able to get Virgin radio which is a great rock n roll no rap no crap station because the breeze block monstosity that is my halls seems to repell all radio waves except the crapest of the crap local stations (more ads than music, and dull music at that). grrrr. But apart from that uni is great and its only for 6 weeks then i will be back here again and then will have a better house AND my own computer. Wooh for me.

oh no what a shame..your ears will probably thank you for it...
as for being an oldie at 30.. I'm nearly 50..keep on rocking. We used to say keep on trucking when I was young..but I'm b*****d if I can remember what it means
I saw Bon Jovi in Huddersfield year before last i think it was..no more big hair though..however a recent piccie of Dave Coverdale(whitesnake) in Classic rock mag shows he still has the hair. He's older than I am ...as we say in the North"I knew him when he had nowt".He hasn't changed a bit..he's still not safe to be left alone with your granny!

There's nothing wrong with Enya.
Also nice to find someone who likes Siouxsie and the Banshees And Blondie. I think Debbie Harry is frequently under appreciated. She had to work really hard to get where she is/was.
I saw alot of good modern bands at Glasto last year, but haven't been to any proper gigs.

The Clash... are people into The Clash?
And Farse. I saw them at me favourite boozer, they were loud. I can only remember them, maybe has something to do with that. They were on first, after all.

Well, feel a bit bad posting this quote here, but thought you lot might appreciatte it -
"If music be the food of love, then R'n'B has got to be McDonalds"
Won't post any favorite bands as i hate music, blame it on Cliff Richard and Bryan Adams' Bass Player! (plus other acts of music that should be banned under the geneva convention)
Glasters!! Wahaaaay! But forget going to the mainstages, experience the rest of the festival! If you managed to get a ticket! checkout the review of last years http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/alabaster/A480304

Hi Zarniroop (hey you visited my review. Eternal gratitude) I'm loving that quote about rnb. lmao. No Glasto this year and REM are headlining.
Just cos you had some bad music experiences doesn't mean you should hate music. That's like not having a relationship now cos the girl/boy you 'married' in the playground when you were 5 left you to go and play kiss chase. You shouldn't have ears if you're not going to use them (or abuse them as the case maybe)
Who likes the Clash? I like the Clash. I am locked in a perpetual argument as to whether the Clash did some ska. Think 'Revolution Rock'.
The White Stripes are doing some good stuff at the mo aren't they? The new single rocks. And that song by The Thrills, One Horse Town. A great summer song.
I don't like that one about Girls only liking Cars and Money and not Boys. It's sexist and inaacurate. I'm insulted. Boys are way nicer than cars and money (symbols of capitalist enslavement and also polluting the planet.ggrrr) and that one about wanting to do it with Madonna. I don't like that one either. Cos its crap (here comes political justification it encourages the objectification of women as sex objects not real people. grr I say, grr)
Anyway S Club 7 or whatever have split up. Hooray! Lets party!
Gosh what a long post!!!
