smiley - grr I hate that question.
Just had a borrower who asked for a number of books, we didn't have them on shelf. So then I gave her the "Who else writes like" book for ideas. She asked if any of the authors listed under Graham Greene were any good. I said I hadn't read any that I usually read 'speculative fiction'. She asked if I could recommend any of those.smiley - rolleyes

I gave her Neal Stephenson smiley - evilgrin She'll either love it or hate it. I'm betting on the latter.

It is amazing how many people assume you've read every book in the library and that your tastes (or your knowledge of their assignments) matches theirs exactly, isn't it?

Who know, maybe you'll have converted her to Stephenson... smiley - evilgrin

Yes it never ceases to amaze. I wonder if I'll ever find out if she liked it. Perhaps, she seems like the type that might seek me out if she really goes for the book.

I had a borrower ask me about all the DVDs she was borrowing. She wanted to know if any of them were worth watching. Yeah, so not only do we read all the books, but we watch all the DVDs too. In all the spare time we have smiley - rolleyes
