Xbox or PS2?

One of the hottest debates (for me) around is: Which is better Xbox or Ps2?
I am a strong beliver (if thats the word) of xbox and all things microsoft. But i want to know the views of the gaming public about these two (and possibly GameCube).
Also I would like to know which do you think is the best developer for each console, in Japan, Britain, America and the rest of the world.
