A Conversation for The Fat Cat Public House, Sheffield, England

Devonshire Cat

Bez (arguaby the finest figure of a man ever found wearing Bez's underwear) <underpants>

Don't forget that there is always the Devonshire Cat, which I believe is owned by the same guy. That also stocks the same, vast selection and does good food, but is a little nearer the centre of town, in Devonshire green.

Unfortunatelly it's not got the history (it turned two last Saturday) is more like a bar and has prices that reflect the fact it's nearer the centre. It is withing yards of Sheffields best rock club though.

Not as good as the Fat Cat, but still a darn fine establishment.

Bez? Clur'n'Bez?

Anyway, the Fat Cat's the nicest pub in Sheff and I miss it.
I always fancied having my wedding reception there, but I'd have to get married first...

Seriously, anyone visiting Sheffield should try it. It's a place that captures your heart without haemorrhaging your wallet!

That posting sounded a little confrontational and I replied to it after comming in from the pub...I often wonder how many other folks on this forum are from Sheffield as well. I find it quite odd to think that any stranger on the street could be a well known name round here.

Yer, I know. You could stand next to some random person in the street that you had been talking to here sometime previously smiley - weird

I'm living just off Abbeydale Road and work in the centre. I went to the uni and stayed on here after smiley - ok

I've heard Sheff is the second most popular place for 'staying on after Uni' in the country. Only beaten by London. Explains the rampant house prices in Hillsborough.

I stayed on for ten years until finances forced me down south a few years ago. But when I've made my money I'll be back, oh yes I will...

Sheffield. Best place in the Universe.
(Just don't tell everyone or they'll all want some.)

Tell me about house prices in Hilsborough!

I bought my current abode in a private sale for 52k and the next month the house next door was snapped up for 68k right there and then!
