Actually, I found it very informative. I live in the US, and while we have similar crossings here (called crosswalks), they look and function slightly differently than in the UK, it seems. I've seen pictures of zebra crossings, but I never knew why they had all those jagged lines, and so forth. And certainly traffic laws vary from country to country, including those governing foot traffic. You never know what little bit of boring, every day information will be a revelation to someone else across the globe.
