Ode to a spousal unit
First:
I offer an apology,
if I have not been enough of
what you think I should be.
If I could read your mind,
we'd both be in trouble.
Twooth:
I offer an apology,
if I have not been appreciative
enough to make your face glow,
and your heart sing.
I have reached deep and wide,
spread my imagination,
and tried!
Threed:
When your intelligence
shines forth,
no roof is high enough
to contain it!
Fourd:
When you lift your voice,
no sky is wide enough,
to hold without shattering
from Joy!
Feeft:
When you smile,
there is no paint,
no emulsion,
no video,
that can capture it's
fleeting yet hovering magic.
It's healing warmth
cannot be laid
in a prescription.
Seekth:
Many is the time
that I reflect,
that even if it is not true
that I would not
be alive without you,
then I certainly
would feel less,
less alive.
Seethenth:
I thank you
that you looked at me
once,
and I thank you
that you looked at me
a thousand times
without
laughing.
Eatth:
And I thank you
that you looked at me
a thousand times,
and laughed!
Yours,
old what's his face
