If you have over-indulged in alcohol and once you have got over the basic problems of waking up with a hangover - opening your eyes without screaming, hot sweats and whining - then one of the best ways to kick start you body back to normality is the "Great British Breakfast".

You will obviously be in no condition to cook it yourself and should head off to a "Greasy Spoon". One day I may write an entry on the British Greasy Spoon but until then all you need to know is that best Greasy Spoons are found on high streets up and down the land and as befits their name serve, generally unhealthy foodstuffs. They remain the last bastion of good, old-fashioned British cooking.

They are generally therefore owned by Greek and Turkish Cypriots or Italians, i.e. the Venice Cafe, Penge High Street, SE20.

Funnily enough, I was thinking very much along those lines (although living in Oz means that Penge High Street is a very long way to go for a hangover cure )
