A Conversation for Great International Breakfast Dishes
The "efficient" (lazy) American Breakfast
J Started conversation Mar 27, 2003
For those Americans who don't forgo breakfast altogether, their morning meal is usually minimal. While it's true that more rural parts are used to more food, it has certainly diminished lately.
A traditional lazy American breakfast is:
1 Bowl of Cereal and/or a more condensed "Milk and Cereal Bar"
1 Liquid. This is usually Coffee, but sometimes either milk or orange juice. Orange juice now comes in more travel friendly cartons. Some choose caffienated beverages.
Maybe a "convinient" pastry or pocket. More and more American foods seem to be manufactured and made in pockets
Occasional foods-
Manufactured muffins. These, sometimes called Mini-Muffins come in a plastic pouch and are prone to taste oddly moist.
Waffles. Waffles in packs are very convinient for a lazy person, and as a general rule, lazy people tend to be patient.
Leftovers. Chinese food is a great leftover for mornings, and no family or individual tends to finish their meal.
Yogurt. Although yogurt needs stirring, it is more or less ready to go for eating at home or travel. The difficulties include taking a spoon or spork to school or work (It rhymes)
Starbucks. Besides coffee, stores like Starbucks offer pastries. Remember their motto, the food is overpriced BUT the lines are long!
Varmint. The Hillbilly feast
Freedom Toast. Originally French Toast, but changed to support our troops fighting in... France?
McDonalds. The much sought after McDonalds breakfast consisting of many convinient foods for the delight of those who can wake up before 10:30.
