I don't know why no-one has brought this up but I have a feeling that on this certain site there should be some backing for the Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy.
It's following is enormous and it continues to amuse people over and over again. My younger brother recently got hold of my Radio Series CDs and he hasn't stop playing them since. Douglas Adams managed to capture a truly, well, brilliant humour all of his own. Apart from a few influences from Monty Python, like the Lentilla - Allitnel sketch.
