Sadly, the Americans hated it, so it never made its way to Scotland. I'm a big fan of "Cream Soda", which is effectively vanilla lemonade, and I was really looking forward to trying vanilla Coke. I had to make do with a shot of vanilla syrup (intended for coffee) in a pint of regular Coke over New Year...

When I was little, my parents used to give us Coke Floats, which was simply a big lump of vanilla ice cream floatiing in a glass of Coke. Yummy. Don't tell my dentist, though.

i looove vanilla coke. there have been times since its appearance that i drank 2 bottles a day. very very bad. but oh so good.
not diet vanilla though... a guy at the store told me it was 'nasty' so i haven't tried it. and i don't drink diet anything since aspartame supposedly contributes to weird diseases...

I tried the Diet Vanilla Coke since diet is what I drink and I must say...It was very disappointing. I had tasted the regular Vanilla Coke and liked the taste and was hoping the diet stuff would be par, but it most certainly wasn't. The silly thing about Americans not liking Vanilla Coke is that adding vanilla syrup to Coca-Cola has been a soda fountain staple for many many years. Silly Americans!

but... I'm american... and we have it in grocery stores and vending machines all over the place! somebody's got to be buying it besides me...
i think it does taste better soda fountain style though, like at TGIFriday's.
but i won't dispute the characterization of americans as silly. it's true.

If you want Vanilla Coke with kick, add some Stolichnya Vanilla Flavored Vodka to a glass of coke. Yum!
