"'It happened on 5th Avenue'. That's the first time I heard the term slumgullion and it was described as an Irish Stew."
This is what my father called the ground beef, tomato, mac combination when we I was a child. But based on the history of the dish, I think that at one point the concoction that is closer to the truth was what Terry Pratchett called "Primal Stew" as created by a community of vagrants in Ankh Morport from the leftovers after the Disc's first rock concert. Mmm, boiled hot dogs and mud!"
