I read it,I didn't buy it ,but I read it .....your asking why ? Why did I bother .Truthfully to find out what all the fuss was about, now, I know. We women battled ,fought ,rallied, demonstrated and burned our bras to be 'liberated',to be equal to men. Now we have 'equality',(though that's a totally different subject, not fair to go into now) ,to read something like 'Fifty Shades of Grey',is a release from the daily routine of juggling children ,home ,work and everything else we do in between.Very badly written ,I read it tongue in cheek ,but if there does happen to be a multi millionaire out there ,I'm willing to go on a date ,picked up by helicopter ,of course ,wined and dined ,then dropped off home ,safely, not too late as I have to get the children to school ontime....with the success of this book, internationally ,it seems to me ,there's just not enough helicopters or multi millionaires in the world to supply all of us liberated women ,who would gladly become 'un-liberated ' just for a few hours. I have not read the sequels,I don't have the time .

I am certainly not asking you why. I read it too, after all.
I must admit to raising an eyebrow at Ana's havering over being pampered. I'm not sure how much soul searching I could have mustered in her position. Except I'd have had a Ferrari, thank you very much.

Yes, I always wanted to have my cake and eat it, too.
