Why didn't anyone bring these points up when it was sitting around in the Writers Workshop and Peer Review?

I thank you. There seem to be a great many pedants, cynics, skeptics and atheists on here. A greater percentage than would be representative of society as a whole. Has this been your experience too?

I like the variety of thinking minds one finds here. Where I live and work, there are few interesting people, and I know, I've checked.

I do appreciate what you mean. My profession is supposed to be full of bright minds, and a lot are, but a lot take it a bit too seriously. It's not like we're saving the planet or anything...

So you're in Europe or Australia, then. Wouldn't it be nice, instead of those floating eyes, one could have little flags next to ones name. It would help with the time zone problem. Then again, it may interfear with the researcher's rights to annonimity.
