I for one eat the little seeds and sweets mixture they usually provide. Lovely taste and smell.
As for kissing, open mouth requires the blocking of the throat with the lower tongue in order to avoid breath *positive pressure*. Keeping the lips soft a supple but firmer during the more agressive moments (which should be few!) is nice. Some like the *lapping* addition but I believe the tongue should not be too active, firm, or repetitive. One young lady delighted me by licking my sensitive upper palate I have since returned the favour. I firmly believe that *French* or *tonsil hockey* kissing should be a demonstration of how good one's tongue might be at other things...and so should not be too violent. I think the proper order might be- melt, meld, nibble, fence, nibble, meld, and melt again.

Actually. After having a think (and recently discovering my technique has slipped somewhat)...most guys I have come across at my age are pretty awful. But then, if not corrected, it does tend to become something of a habit.
What I prefer as a laydee...lots of lip, and a little tongue to begin with. I've never ever liked the *shove-it-down-yer-throat" approach - I mean, what does that accomplish? There is no feeling attached. Just more of a choking sensation. For me personally, I like to take it slow...added sensation around the lips. No severe biting. And then as it gets more heated; tongues should be introduced (think of *that* scene from "Cruel Intentions")...like cl said, as more of a demonstration than anything...and a kiss should either work down as it began, or break off suddenly.
As for lipstick - if I am out on the pull, I never wear any. And if I do, it's usually on the light side of things, so that it doesn't matter if it comes off. So instead, I wear lip gloss or good ol' Vaseline. Avoids mess.
How do you breathe? Um. Through your nose. Isn't that obvious?

For those of us with occasional allergies, a mild antihistamine is an invaluble tool in the art.
The overbearing *deep throat* kiss is very much a thing of youth. That's why lapping is so popular I think, a gentle, cat-like rhythm interspersed with gentle shallow probing and lip gymnastics. Nothing strenuous, athletic, or agressive though.
Bravo, Saturnine for your choice of vaseline. That must grease the wheels, n'est pas?
