Curator Changes
Gnomon - time to move on Posted Feb 23, 2014
When the BBC Editors appointed the Curators, they gave them no strict guidelines on how to operate; instead, they let them work out methods for themselves. Some chose to make changes only when they were requested in Editorial Feedback. Others including myself chose to make changes wherever they found them.
The one rule we all agreed on was that any significant changes should be logged somewhere. I logged all changes at the Curators' Forum, but some authors complained that they weren't subscribed to or even aware of the Curators' Forum, so they didn't know that changes had been made to their entry.
So at one point I experimented with also posting a conversation link to the entry itself. Since the author is normally subscribed to their entry, they will then be aware of the changes.
In fact I assumed the reason you commented in the conversation on 13 June, 2011 was because you followed the link on the entry.
If you don't like the link, you could ask the Editors to remove it or hide it.

No, Gnomon, your assumption is as incorrect as your editorial approach is off-putting. I originally found my way to F3198237/T8238950 because of a rude hint the aptly named Rudest Elf dropped in yet another conversation.

Well, it was only an experiment because authors were asking for more notification. I don't do it anymore.
