A Conversation for The Egg Banjo

Egg Banjo's

The best egg banjo I ever had was at the top of the dockyard road in Sembawang Singapore.

Sembawang village had a small but very lively set of bars and eateries. About two doors down from the Melbourne Bar of which I was a permanent fixture during our visit in 83, there was an eaterie, normally packed from about 3am onwards.

Their banjo's were more like omelletes, with fillings (thus giving the same effect) and they were heaven. My mouth is watering at the thought of them.

I would love to go back there, however, I have heard that the village and its bars have all been bulldozed to make way for some highway or shopping mall or something or other.

Its a sad sad shame and I can only hope that both Jessie (The Melbourne Bar) and the egg banjo shop have managed to relocate some where just as busy.
