My fave mnemonic was given to my 1st yr English class by the lovely Mr Smith, and serves the important function of helping all 11 yr-olds to spell the word "necessary" correctly every time, which let's face it is unspeakably crucial to all those teetering on the brink of adolescence. It goes like this: Never Eat Chocolate Eclairs Since Some Are Rather Yucky. Unfortunately (and I have carried out extensive research on this matter) it is based on a completely false premise. But I've never forgotten it! Never Eat Shredded Wheat is also useful for remembering the points of a compass in clockwise order. I don't know any that aren't about food, sorry.
