"The chariot race has a 263-to-1 cutting ratio, probably the highest for any 65mm sequence ever filmed."

“Cutting ratio” describes the amount shot compared to the amount used: 7:1 used to be considered reasonable: nowadays it’s probably more like 20 or 30:1.
