A Conversation for Thomas the Tank Engine - The Works of WV Awdry

As often happens, an entry on h2g2 has provided a spring board to obtaining an answer to an irksome notion.

Specifically, the die cast representations of the Thomas tales' vehicles/personalities. I was flitting through either the KB toys site or the Toys r Us site, and came across the Thomas Tank engine line. I enjoyed perusing the line, until I came across a certain red truck with a canvas tilt. It had the same body style as Tommy and his friends, with one horrifing exception. This littl red truck...had no face!

Prehaps some kind Thomas fan can explain why one vehicle is identity-less in this other wise personalized mechanical realm?

Hmm, I don't think all the trucks actually had faces... I know all the named characters, with the exception of Henrietta, had faces, but to be honest I'm not sure about all the trucks

Any chance of a link to where you saw the pictures in question?

I am not certain this link will work, O copied from the address field.
By the way it was Amazon.Com/Toys r us and the line was called Thomas and friends.
